Visiting AircraftThe current situation regarding visiting aircraft is documented in the October 2008 LFA Members Update. Aviation ProgressHuge progress has been made, and the mixed operations restriction introduced in 2007 has been lifted. A new Aerodrome Manual has been produced, incorporating new operating procedures agreed with the CAA and MoD. A new Air/Ground Communications Frequency has been allocated and a Letter of Agreement between Daedalus and Fleetlands is in place together with a CAA exemption from Rule 45 to allow aircraft to operate within the Fleetlands ATZ to the west of the disused railway line on the new Daedalus frequency. All of the details are in the new Aerodrome Manual which is required reading for everyone operating from Daedalus, and a Pilots Guide to Lee produced. Charges and User Licence (a.k.a Landing Card)At a meeting of Hampshire Police Authority on September 2008 the charges for use of the runway were set at £550.00 a year including VAT, reduced by 50% for microlights, effective from 1st Sept 2008. The User Licence which is applicable for resident aircraft is currently being negotiated - more details will be posted here as soon as available.
