Airfield
Ownership of the airfield is split between the Department for Transport who
hold the central area, including the runway pattern, and South East England
Development Agency (SEEDA), who own the former administrative area, taxiways
hangarage and dispersals.

DfT hold the central area for use by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency's
Search and Rescue helicopters. This area is leased to Hampshire Police
Authority, who manage the airfield and also use it as a base for the Hampshire
Police Air Support Unit, who operate a B-N Islander fixed-wing aircraft.
Portsmouth Naval Gliding Club (PNGC) have a license to use the DfT land and
normally operate on Wednesdays and at weekends, except when they are running
full-time courses. Other aircraft use the runway by arrangement with the
Airfield Manager.

SEEDA are in the process of developing plans for future use of their land.
Since there is no provision on the DfT land for accommodating aircraft other
than the MCA helicopter flight it will be essential for the future viability of
the airfield for part of the SEEDA land to be used to accommodate aviation
related businesses and provision has been made for this within the SEEDA
concepts that have been presented for public consultation. SEEDA land on the
eastern side of the airfield is currently occupied on short-term leases by
aviation related businesses housed in the wartime dispersal hangars.
